Our fundraising efforts really got underway on September 11th with a volunteer project in Baltimore, Maryland. The Warrior Connection and Vermont's own, New Chapter, Inc., a healthy nutrition and supplement company focused on nourishing the well-being of body and soul, teamed up to serve meals to the underprivileged community in downtown Baltimore. Estimates show that more than 13% of our nation's homeless are US military service veterans.

New Chapter and The Warrior Connection teamed up to serve hundreds of folks at Paul's Place, who focuses on providing programs, services, and support that strengthen individuals and families, fostering hope, personal dignity, and growth, the event was covered by ABC News channel 2 affiliate, WMAR. During the week, TWC joined New Chapter to participate in the Natural Products Expo, a healthy food and product tradeshow.
Our week in Maryland was capped off aboard the USS Constellation, in the shadow of World Trade Center, Baltimore, with significant corporate sponsorship from partners at New Chapter, supporting TWC with major funding, healthy products, and marketing support enabling TWC to continue in service to more veterans and families. Thank you, New Chapter!
In October, our partners at Cove Communities and Point Sebago Golf hosted the 11th Annual MC Invitational Golf Tournament. The tournament was founded by Michael Cloutier, the Director of Golf at Point Sebago, after losing his son, Mike Jr., to PTSD - a truly tragic story of familial loss. Micheal and Point Sebago donate the proceeds from the event to TWC, ensuring other families don't experience the same tragedies and loss.

This year's proceeds reached an all-time high after a large contribution from our friends at Pine Tree Foods & Equipment. Thank you to both Dan P. and Dan D. at Pine Tree Foods. And, of course, a BIG thank you to Michael Cloutier, Cove Communities, and Point Sebago Golf! We truly appreciate your efforts, year over year, to give back to TWC and the veteran community.
With additional regional events in Connecticut, Florida, Ohio, and California, TWC participated in veterans appreciation events such as "Duty Calls" in New Hampshire, to a custom car show with our friends at Maybury Material Handling in Massacuchets. TWC was making friends and raising funds.
Our year-end fundraising wrapped up nicely with successful giving campaigns for #GivingTuesday and holiday festivities in December. Our year concluded with two of our very own team members announcing their engagement on New Year's eve. What a way to end the year, congratulations, Aaron and Colette!
