US Army Veteran, Over 26 Years of Service
Colonel Ralph L. Kauzlarich (U.S. Army, Retired) hails from the States of Montana and Oregon. A 1988 graduate from the
United States Military Academy, Colonel Kauzlarich was commissioned as an Infantry Officer and served in multiple mechanized, air assault, and Airborne Ranger command and staff positions.
The highlight of Colonel Kauzlarich’s career was when he stood up the 2nd Battalion, 16th Infantry Regiment “Rangers” from
scratch (manned, equipped, and trained), deployed, fought, won, and redeployed the Battalion after over 14 months of intense combat in Baghdad, Iraq in support of the “Surge.” His Battalion’s feats will forever be remembered given the book, “The Good Soldiers,” written by Pulitzer Prize-winning author David Finkel.
Colonel Kauzlarich retired from the Army with over 26 years of service on July 31st, 2014. Over the tenure of his career, Colonel Kauzlarich participated in numerous operational deployments including Operations Desert Shield/Storm, Operation Safe Haven, Operation Intrinsic Action, Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom, and Operation New Dawn.
His badges include the Combat Infantryman’s Badge (2 awards), Expert Infantryman’s Badge, Master Parachutist Badge, Air
Assault Badge and Ranger Tab. His awards and decorations include the Valorous Unit Award (2OLC), Legion of Merit Medal, Bronze
Star Medal (3OLC), Meritorious Service Medal (6OLC), Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal (4OLC),
Joint Service Achievement Medal, Army Achievement Medal (3OLC), Department of State Meritorious Honor Award, and numerous service medals.
Following his military career, he led the Georgia Military College’s Milledgeville, Madison, and Sandersville Campuses as the
Executive Director. Over the late summer and fall of 2018, he served as APR Energy’s Company Quality Assurance Director and
Country Manager for the U.S. Virgin Islands. Now he is the President & Chief Operating Officer of Kauz & Effect Consulting, LLC,
while serving as a Fiduciary/Financial Advisor for First Command Financial Services.
His present extracurricular activities include serving as the Honorary Colonel of the 16th Infantry Regiment and volunteering with the Knights of Columbus. Colonel Kauzlarich is married to Stephanie, his wife of 31 years. They have three children, Allie (20), Jacob (18), and Garrett (17).
